Quartz is highly stain-resistant because it's nonporous. Everyday spills like coffee, wine and oil wipe up easily. Only a few harsh substances (like permanent dye or certain chemicals) require prompt cleanup, and even then quartz outperforms most natural stone.
Quartz handles everyday warmth, but its resin can scorch from very high heat — always use a trivet or hot pad. If you need to set hot pans down directly, porcelain or sintered stone is the better choice.
